I have 30 years of management experience, with four of those years with the City of Kenosha, serving as the Director of City Inspections. I have been certified in law enforcement, corrections and code enforcement and have held supervisory roles in both law enforcement and code enforcement, having served as a Lieutenant and Interim Chief of Police. I am the only candidate who has proposed, written and had laws enacted (codes and ordinances) to make a community safer, cleaner and a better place to live. I am bringing a fresh "outside" view to the Sheriff's Office. It is time for the Sheriff's Office to move forward and not be a "run of the mill" agency that simply reacts. I will be the leader to make that happen. Finally, as your next Sheriff, it is important to know that I am beholden to no one except the voters of Kenosha County.
Under my administration, the Sheriff's Office will form new partnerships with surrounding law enforcement agencies. Utilizing these new partnerships, we will form specialized investigative units to focus on serious criminal activities and cases. Our county sits between two very large metropolitan cities, both with increasingly violent crimes. It is my intention to keep those criminal influences out of Kenosha County with our new partners and the units that will come from this collaboration.
Once elected, I will institute new training and utilize the best up-to-date technologies available to keep our communities safe. Training will include Deescalation classes, Trauma and Stress Training and utilizing AI, among others. The Sheriff's Office will have a major focus on physicality as it relates to law enforcement. The Sheriff's Office will utilize hands-on simulation training to ensure each and every Deputy Sheriff possesses the necessary decision making skills to meet the needs of our communities.
As your next Sheriff, my plan is simple: To re-build the trust in all communities of Kenosha County. Communication is a vital component to achieve that trust, and transparency is an important piece of this plan. To achieve this, I will walk through all of our communities throughout the year, getting to know you, listening to you and building a rapport that will foster the trust between community members and the Sheriff's Office. Department culture is another way to ensure that we are serving our communities at the level that we should. That starts at the top with the command staff, and will include each and every employee of the Sheriff's Office.
In today's society, the lines are blurred between being your Sheriff or being a politician. Some will tell you that you have to be both. But let me be clear: My number one priority to the citizens of Kenosha County is to provide the BEST possible law enforcement services possible. That will be my job, leading a top notch, well trained law enforcement agency!
